Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter Review

A few days before 2013, I committed myself into finishing neglected cosmetics, limited to shampoos, hair treatments, soaps, body scrubs, lotions, and body creams I looked for one in my closet before buying a new one. It did not apply to makeup. Hihi. One unfinished item I had for months (almost a year) in my closet was the Watsons Stretchmark Minimizer Cocoa Body Butter. The photos posted now were taken 3 to 4 months ago pa. Hehe. I used it again from day one of 2013 and after three weeks, I was done with it. And so, I am ready to give it a review. =)

Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter ReviewI bought the Watsons Stretchmark Minimizer Cocoa Body Butter early last year as a replacement for the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter I used months before and after giving birth. I planned to rest using Palmers Tummy Butter because it is just so hard to blend on my skin. I first switched to Silka Whitening Lotion with Jojoba to lighten my darkened stretchmarks and it helped fast track whitening. And now that it has all lightened, I wanted to use something to reduce those white stretchmarks. Instead of using Palmers again, I chose something more convenient to use, the Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Body Butter.

It comes in a round, white plastic tub and it has 200 grams of product in it. The body butter itself is a white soft cream. Its consistency is thinner compared to Palmers. It is so easy to blend around my tummy area. It smells like those of products with shea butter. It smells better than Palmers in my opinion. It is absorbed fast too.

Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter ReviewOn the Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter label:

Deep moisturizing to help prevent and fade stretchmarks.

Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Monostearate, Butyrospermum Parkii, Cetyl Alcohol, Vitis Vinifera (Grapesed) Oil, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Extract, Saccharide Isomerate, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Fragrance Oil, DMDM Hydantoin, Triethanolamin, Carbomer, Glycerine.

Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter- What I Like:

  • It does not cause irritations or any unwanted sensation
  • It is easy to spread and blend on skin. I like this better than Palmers in this aspect.
  • It is absorbed fast. It is lightweight, non-sticky and non-greasy too.
  • It was able to relieve dryness around my tummy area. It kept my skin moisturized the whole day.
  • The scent is okay.
  • It is affordable for around P160 per tub.
  • It is sold at Watsons and SM Department Stores.

Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter Review

Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter – What I don’t like:

  • It didn’t minimize the appearance of stretchmarks.

Final Thoughts:

Perhaps my intermittent usage of the Watsons Stretchmark MInimizer Cocoa Body Butter made it impossible for me to see its stretchmark minimizing effects. I blame my lack of enthusiasm to religiously use this on my tummy area. However, I do appreciate how it is moisturizing on skin which I need too since I find my tummy area as the driest part of my body. Even though it was not able to give positive results in terms of minimizing my stretchmarks, it was able to give me that moisturizing effect similar to that of Palmers. Right now, I am happy using Bench Organics Coffee and Honey Crème Oil on my tummy area. You know, for firming. =)

It is most of the time trial and error in finding the right products to address our needs. But the fact that we keep on looking for whatever is best for us is a good sign that we always strive to be the best version of us.

Always wear beauty,

Love that parting statement. I totally agree, Val! :)

    Palmer’s ata is effective. :)

    • Val Anne Bee says:

We always want to get the best diba? =) Thanks Nin. I agree, I see improvements with Palmers kaso matagal din. Palmers butter I tried is too thick talaga, hirap iblend. Hehe. tyvm.

    1st sentence- I looked for one * I found
    Sorry typo…

  3. Ruth says:

I’m trying not to be judgmental when it comes to products that cost less. Kasi may iba nmn tlga n mura pero effective. But with this product, though it helps moisturize the skin, hindi pa din siya mkatanggal / mkabawas ng stretch marks. But, ok sana ang lightness ng cream na’to, sayang!

    Nice review val!

    • Val Anne Bee says:

me too ruth, i have tried super cheap stuffs that perform better than pricey ones. with this one, kht di cya nkaminimize ng stretchmarks, in fairness it improved my skin condition, not that dry anymore. nice pa rin. thanks ruth. :)

  4. DeBi says:

i am thankful that i don’t have that too much stretchmarks. hihihi
and yeah, the search will be unending…because even if you have found the one for you, new products will always come the way claiming the same thing.

    • Val Anne Bee says:

lucky you debbie. i have light marks pa rin around my waist. hehe. yeah, the search seems to be unending, but along the way, we‘ll have some favorites dba. :) thanks debbie.

  5. Ida says:

I thought I was the only one who gets dry skin on her tummy area- I find that putting oil and then lotion on it helps Val. :) Good project on using up products, I wanna do that also. Love the nuggets of wisdom at the end of your posts.

    • Val Anne Bee says:

I thought ako nga lang din may dry tummy area. Seems unusual kasi diba. I’ll try lotion over oil. About my project, I want to save plus I want to have more space in my closet so I can see everything at one glance. Hehe. =) Thanks Ida.
