United Colors of Benetton Hot Eau de Toilette
I’m not an avid perfume collector but I own some which I don’t use at all. I only buy Victoria’s Secret body sprays and I stick to Victoria’s Secret. How very typical, no? And I only buy a body spray once I’ve already used up the other. My life would be a little less complicated if I had the same point of view on makeup, shoes and bags. But, oh well! I have no idea why my relatives like giving me perfumes. Blech!
I got this United Colors of Benetton Hot perfume last Christmas. The packaging is very noticeable because of the tap-like spray on top. The bottle is clean and simple. The scent is also relaxing; citrusy, with hints of floral to it. I use this sometimes and you can see that the bottle is still half full.
This is a counterpart of a set of unisex fragrance released by United Colors of Benetton way back in 1997. The other one is labeled Cold and it is said that Hot is slightly more feminine than its partner. Meant to be mixed together, it gives off a totally different scent. Most reviews gravitated towards the Hot fragrance. I want to purchase Cold just to see the difference for myself and how it would really smell like when mixed together. Creating two fragrances that is meant to complement each other is intriguing. Also, this United Colors of Benetton perfume is very affordable for $19.99 only.

I think this can indeed be considered unisex. I got a hint of a woody aroma to it that would certainly appeal to men. Though I like the scent, the lasting power is not that good. Some locally available eau de toilettes that are cheaper last longer than this one like Zen Zest’s and Afficionado’s.
This eau de toilette contains mandarin, rosewood and is accented with lily of the valley, cedarwood and amber. It is warm, pleasant, floral, spicy, and ambery. The flowers dominate in a bouquet-presentation with a standard jasmine note. Hot has a nice silage and very good longevity on the skin. It’s quite good and a comfortable wear.
Notes: a fresh citrus scent, with exotic tones of oriental florals.
Top Notes: Lemon, Bergamot, Madarin, Rosewood
Middle Notes: Muguet, Water Jasmine, Iris, Apricot
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Oakmoss, Amber, Vanilla, Musk
Recommended Use: Daytime
What I like about United Colors of Benetton Hot Eau de Toilette: PROS
1. Relaxing scent. The mix of the lemon, rosewoods, jasmine, etc. created something really subtle and soothing for me.
2. Unisex. The fact that both genders can benefit from one fragrance is a great convenience. If a couple likes the fragrance, what a great savings that would be.
3. Affordable. Some online sites sell this for Php1, 200 to 1, 500 pesos. There are also a lot of fakes for this one which will only costs Php250-500.
4. Does not feel heavy or hot on the skin.
What I like about United Colors of Benetton Hot Eau de Toilette: CONS
1. Not long lasting. It would have been great if it lasted for more than half the day. The smell does not even stick to my clothes like other cheaper perfumes do.
Overall:
If I did buy this product, I don’t think I got my money’s worth on this one. The fact that it does not last that long is such a shame. Considering that the brand has been around for a long time and have had created high-quality products, this eau de toilette is a disappointment. I don’t recommend this product at all and certainly would not purchase it.
