The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Blusher in PK102 Review
I have always loved blushes. I think that, in addition to lipsticks, blushes come as my second favorite makeup product. In fact, I seem to have quite a collection already. Whenever I’m in a beauty store, I always check out the blushes available. I don’t mind also if they come cheap as long as they apply well and the color suits me. Be it powder, cream, cheek tints or stains – I have tried them all and I still can’t seem to get enough. But I have to say, I have yet to explore the high end brands.
Lately, I have been obsessed with the Lovely Me:ex Blushers from The Face Shop. For added information, the Lovely Me:ex collection of The Face Shop caters to the younger, teenage crowd. If you’ll notice in the store, there are several items in this collection, including a BB Cream (which I also use incidentally) and some nail polishes, eyeshadows, eyeliners and blushers. They are packaged rather differently to cater to the younger beauty addicts.
What I love about these blushes is that they are soft and powdery. It may somewhat be similar to Shu Uemura blushes, most especially the rectangular packaging. Some shades are even almost the same as those from Shu, and some of the shades appear similarly chalky at first. However, since these blushers from The Face Shop are hugely more affordable than those from Shu Uemura, the quality differs in that they aren’t that long-wearing. Still, given the price of these blushers, I find them more likable.
Right now, I have two shades but for this review, I’m focusing on this peachy shade. It’s a warm peach-pink shade and suits most fair-skinned girls. It appears like a milky-orange at first, but it’s actually peach. One swipe of a brush picks up just enough product, and what’s great is that the shade is buildable, allowing for a customized effect on the cheeks. It is in matte form, so girls who are afraid of shimmers on their cheeks would find it usable for everyday. I also love that although it appears chalky at first, it is easy to blend making it look natural on the cheeks.

The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Blusher in PK102 - PROS:
- Affordable at Php 350.00 each
- Soft and powdery
- Cute color collection
- Packaging is nice in that it’s small and travel-friendly
- The peach shade is buildable allowing to achieve desired intensity
The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex Blusher in PK102 - CONS:
- Only lasts on the cheeks for a good 2 hours
- Appears chalky a bit
- Not suitable for all skin tones, as the shades match fair-skinned girls better
Overall, this blush is becoming a favorite for me. I don’t mind if it doesn’t stay put the whole day, because I actually enjoy applying it during quick touch ups. I used to stay away from peach/orangey blushes and would rather stick it out with either pinks or reds. But I soon discovered that peach tones of blushes look really nice on me, most especially if I have a summer tan. Well, I know it’s not summer anymore, but this blush does remind me of sunny days at the beach. It gives such a natural glow on the cheeks after proper blending and layering. To make it last longer, I just make do with applying a cream blush or a cheek stain in a similar shade first, so it has something to stick to. All in all, I think for young girls who are just starting out with makeup, this is a good choice of blush to try. In the same way, for certified makeup addicts like me, this blush would be a nice addition to our growing collection. Personally, because it’s so handy, this is what I bring with me during work trips out-of-town.

I agree, they’re Shu-esque. I noticed that other Korean makeup brands like Etude House and Skin Food tend to have light-colored blushes also, I guess because most Korean skin tones are pretty light.
