The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Eau de Toilette

The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Eau de Toilette

I’d been eyeing this at The Body Shop for some time, and finally received it as a birthday gift in June this year. I am so happy to have it. I’ve come to realize that I love rose fragrances, and Moroccan Rose is an upbeat, light, clean rose with some fruity notes mixed in.

Moroccan Rose EDT

When I spray Moroccan Rose all over, it makes me feel like I’ve just stepped out of a bathtub with drops of oil rose oil in it. It’s got this clean, but soft, soap-tinged rose fragrance that I find pretty and girly, and comfortable to wear to any place. It’s got a slight fruity note to it as well, something which to my nose smells like berries, though this isn’t included in the list of notes. It features orange instead, which I don’t detect in particular. I think the slight fruityness prevents the fragrance from being too soapy and keeps it smelling fresh.

It dries down to a soft rose with a bit of cedarwood, which is a scent that by itself I’m not fond of, but I really like its appearance here since it sort of breaks the uniformity of the perfume and keeps me from getting quickly tired of the fragrance. Moroccan Rose does not last long on me at all—it only stays on my skin for a couple of hours, but this is fine with me as it’s a eau de toilette and I didn’t expect it to have good lasting power in the first place.

The packaging is rather simple, with a flimsy metal cap which at first I was okay with but now kind of annoys me because it keeps slipping off and might get lost eventually. I like the pink rose print on the bottle though. It keeps the product looking pretty and lends a simple elegance to the packaging.

The regular price of this I believe is around PhP 1700, but during my visit to The Body Shop last week, all the perfumes were on a 40% off sale which is a great deal! I’m not sure when this sale will end though. Moroccan Rose is also available in a body mist, body butter, shower gel, body milk, and bath oil (I think I’ll check this one out).

I find Moroccan Rose to be an affordable, simplistic but decent rose perfume , and I think it can be worn easily by both younger and more mature ladies. I tend to wear it during slightly cooler weather, with a basic jeans and shirt combo to add a bit of a feminine touch. I recommend that rose fragrance-lovers give it a try for a relatively cheap fix!

I have smelt this, and I think it is absolutely lovely!
Just a word of caution – I have a friend who is asthmatic, and the smell of this triggers an attack. Always. She loves the smell to bits, but then nothing is worth an attack obviously.
So those of you who have asthma, especially if an attack is triggered by certain smells, be cautious is all I’m saying.
    Nice review, Ida :))

I totally understand. :) Perhaps rose fragrances in particular trigger her asthma? Me, my mom, and my daughter all have asthma, so I usually apply perfume sparingly.

      Thank you. :)

      • Samantha says:

Ah :) No, she’s fine with any other rose fragrance, and that’s why it’s weird. So I guess there’s a particular ingredient in this that sets it off or something.
