The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain Review
I had been using Lush’s Lip and Cheek Stain but since they stopped production I had no choice but to search for a different product. That was so cheap, around P200 only, but gave a very natural flush. Too bad…
When The Body Shop held their sale, I immediately availed their best-selling product, the Lip and Cheek Stain, since it was almost half the price. This has been my go-to for cheek color ever since. No brainer in applying and no hassle in bringing around.
For a natural looking just blushed glow to the cheeks or just bitten in to a strawberry lips this double-duty product is a must have for the make-up bag. The more you sweep it on, the deeper it gets.
Panthenol – Helps to moisturise the skin.
Glycerine – Is an effective moisturiser which significantly improves hydration.
Aqua, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Methylparaben, Aminomethyl Propanol, CI 17200.
Because the Lip & Cheek Stain is fast-drying, apply to one cheek at a time to allow more blendability. Exfoliate using The Body Shop make-up Lip Scuff one to two times per week to help keep them smooth and soft.
Dab to lips or cheeks, using the doe’s foot applicator, and blend using your fingertips or our Professional Make-Up Sponge
Comes in a transparent tube with a doe foot applicator (more like a lipgloss)
It has no scent at all.
On the cheeks: I have 01, It is really a deep red color in the tube but once applied on my cheeks, it is very light rosy pink and looks so natural. The color is buildable so you can apply it sheer or depending on your preference. It gives me a natural flush that is perfect for no makeup looks. It makes me look as if I have a natural healthy glow.
On the lips: I do this on my lips sometimes which gives me a nice color. The thing is it always settles on my lip lines (I do have dry lips). Maybe I just don’t know the proper way of applying stains. My lips feel dry even though I put a balm on top of it.
Moi wearing it – no makeup except the lip stain
Application: At first I only used my clean fingers to apply it, which worked fine. But I found out that a better way to apply it is by using foundation brush. It works much better and my fingers are stain free! It is very easy to blend and it doesn’t dry up fast.
Texture and Formula: Has the texture of a gel rather than a liquid which makes it way easier to blend than conventional cheek stains. It doesn’t dry too quickly leaving me longer time to blend.
Staying power: It lasts pretty well on my cheeks. I think it stay 5-6 hours on me!
What I like:
- A little goes a long way
- Did not break me out
- Gives me a beautiful rosy glow!
What I don’t like:
- As a lip stain, it’s a little drying and settles on lines
As a blush
• It stays longer if something is applied something over it, like a setting powder or a powder blush
• Use a foundation brush if you have more time, this helps avoid a streaky appearance or blotchiness
As a lip stain
• Make sure to exfoliate lips before applying
• Apply to center then quickly rub the color outwards using your fingers
• Apply balm or gloss over it
P900 but got it around P500
Where To Buy?
Available in all The Body Shop stores
Will I Repurchase?
Yes! I will definitely repurchase this. I love this as a cheek stain!
I adore this as it gives me a healthy, rosy flush. I absolutely recommend it to girls who want a blush for days when you want a natural look or as to layer underneath a powder blush. As a lip stain, I still need some practice in applying it!
