Taylor Swift – Favorite Makeup Looks

Hi everyone, hope you’re having a great Sunday. I wanna see The Hunger Games movie! I haven’t read the book (loser) though I want to very much, I just haven’t had time to do so. Anyways, I randomly saw a video of Taylor Swift singing a song that’s included in the movie, it’s called Safe and Sound, I saw the live version first, then the official music video, and I kept playing it on repeat because I loved how soft and calming it is. I also thought that Taylor Swift looked remarkable in both videos—I really liked her makeup in the live version, and looking back, I can’t recall seeing a makeup look of hers that I didn’t like.

I like Taylor Swift’s songs well enough, though I can’t call myself a fan, but I really like Safe and Sound (it doesn’t hurt that the band she sings with in it is one of my faves), and I felt like looking back on my favorite Taylor Swift makeup looks:

She rocks the cat eye, does she not? I think the neutral, low shimmer eyeshadow, which was MAC Baselight Paint Pot, and the rich, black mascara, which was Le 2 De Guerlain Mascara, help make the cat eye liner look elegant and flattering on her eyes shape and eye color. Normally I’d expect a red lip with this, but her pink-red lip, a combination of Urban Decay Lip Envy lip stain in Envious and Le Metier Cap d’ Antibes Lip Gloss,  is a nice surprise. The barely there flush,  courtesy of Smashbox Convertible Color in Poppy, is just right and doesn’t distract from the eyes. I like how elegant and spring-y the makeup looks as a whole.

Now the thing is, the previous look, pretty and fresh-looking as it was, seemed to become Taylor’s signature makeup for a few years. Paired with her usual curly waves, some called it a style rut. Fast forwards to the Grammy Awards of this year…what a cool change. Her lips look even more plush and beautiful because of that lip color, which was Covergirl LipPerfection in Enthrall, applied after lip balm with a finger to make the finish and color seem more natural. You can also see that she’s ditched the cat eye liner here, and instead opted for fanned lashes and gorgeous gold eye makeup. I’m wondering what her eyeshadow is but unfortunately I wasn’t able to find that out—any guesses on what it is? The light, peachy blush puts the whole look together.

Taylor Swift had a Vogue cover earlier this year, and her makeup there looked great and isn’t something I’ve ever seen her in—black liner on both the top and bottom lash lines + contoured cheeks, but I prefer the look she wore at this movie premiere. Here she’s wearing coral lips, a light dusting of coral blush, and gold liner on her lower lashline. Sweet, fresh, with an ethereal touch, pretty close to her natural style which I like her for. The bangs look great too.

I really can’t stop listening to her song! Do you like Taylor Swift’s makeup looks? Seen The Hunger Games? I so want to before Holy Week comes!
