Snoe Beauty Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder – Tropical Cocktail
The Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder is one of Snoe Beauty’s newest products. Initially I thought these were color-correcting powders, but essentially, they’re powders that can be used on both the face and body. There are 4 variants for this and what I have is Tropical Cocktail, which is peach-colored.
What the company says about the product:
Fresh Custard Powder is the smoothest, most luxurious powder infused with Argan oil for a silky sensation. Its already added with anti-oxidant Acai berry and sunscreens for skin protection against the sun’s damaging rays. This fragrant delight with an airy consistency will make sure you feel fresh; controls oil and shine. This ultra fine powder will also correct the most common skin imperfections and evens out skin tone.
I chose Tropical Cocktail based on the color of it. The other variants are yellow, pink, green, and bronze, aside from from this which is a peach shade. I think they are differently scented as well, but I I didn’t know this when I was buying it because inconveniently there were no available testers at the Festival Mall branch, where I dropped by.
The scent of the Tropical Cocktail Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder is a somewhat perfumey fruity scent which unfortunately I find a bit cloying, especially in the hot weather we seem to be having again. It also reminds me of the scent of the Johnson’s Baby Powder that has a purple cap. I’m not fond of the scent of Tropical Cocktail so good thing it fades quickly enough.
The bottle has a nice dispenser—it has 6 tiny holes at the top that give me control over how much product I let out. One sprinkle lets out a small amount similar to how much I use for mineral foundation. To get more powder I just shake the bottle again a few times.
The texture of the Snoe Beauty Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder is different from other body powders I’ve used. I seems less finely milled, and compared to most loose finishing powders I’ve used, the powder seems heavier, and denser somewhat.
I like to use this on my neck and decolletage, and a bit on my face on no-makeup, sweat-like-a-pig, punishingly hot days. It’s great for that. I suppose you could say that regular baby powder can be used for that, but then when I use baby powder on my face I often break out. I don’t break out with the Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder. Sometimes though it does make my facial skin itch a little, so if you have sensitive skin, do a spot test on your jaw area first.
This is not a heavily pigmented powder, but the shade of Tropical Cocktail brightens up my skin a little bit. The easiest way to apply this is with hands—just sprinkle the powder on your palms, then apply and blend on your face or body using your fingers. Of course, make sure your hands are clean. Also, don’t forget to blend because if not blended this can look a bit streaky, particularly on darker skin tones.
Snoe Beauty Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder – Tropical Cocktail – Pros:
- Hygienic, easy to use dispenser.
- Cute bottle and just the right size for a purse. This is about as tall as an iphone.
- Scent fades quickly (this is a pro for me because I don’t like the smell of this).
- It doesn’t break me out.
- It helps lessen shine and oiliness for a little while.
- Brightens up my skin.
- Hands are enough to apply this.
- It’s a local product.
- It’s not expensive at PhP 249.
Snoe Beauty Fresh Custard Face and Body Powder – Tropical Cocktail – Cons:
- I find the Tropical Cocktail scent a bit cloying.
- It makes my face itch a little at times. I simply avoid using it on days when my skin is acting up.
- If you don’t blend it with your hands/fingers, it can look kinda streaky.
- Sun protection is mentioned in the product description but there’s no SPF level listed.
This is a nice product for summer. I’m gonna keep it in my bag for when I need some seriously quick freshening up. I’d probably buy it again, but in a different variant.
