Prestige Classic Khol Eyeliner in White Review
While some of us use black eyeliners to rim our lower eyelids (or what we call the ‘waterline’) to give our eyes some emphasis, some want their eyes to look bigger, brighter and more awake by using a light-colored pencil such as white eyeliner.
I didn’t really fancy white eyeliners since I used to have little knowledge on what they are for. I used to think that white could look very unnatural under eyes unless you have pristine white skin to begin with. But a lot of articles have come up and acknowledge white eyeliners as being effective when it comes to brightening your eyes and making it look bigger and more awake.
White eyeliners can make or break a look. If used correctly, they really make a difference. The eyes appear bigger, brighter, look fresh and more awake. I didn’t want my eyes to look any bigger than what they are now. What I was after was the brightening effect that the white eyeliner can provide to counteract my ever tired eyes.
Prestige’s Classic Khol White Eyeliner is my very first white eyeliner. I chose it over a couple of white eyeliners available at Beauty Bar because it’s creamy and pigmented.
Product Description from Prestige and Beauty Bar:
Easy one-stroke application glides on smoothly without tugging or pulling. The Prestige Classic Khol Liner for eyes comes in a sleek silver barrel with quick-reference color matched end. Use Prestige Sharpener # 6002 for best results. .28oz pencil.
What I like about Prestige Classic Kohl Eyeliner in White:
- Very pigmented and opaque. One swipe is enough
- Glides easily on waterline, spares you from dragging the eyeliner and tugging your eyelids
- Smooth, creamy formula
- Matte finish, no shimmers
- Does its job of brightening eyes
- Makes the eyes look bigger
- Doesn’t irritate my eyes
- Fades after a few hours but the color remains visible
- Inexpensive at around 300 Php in Beauty Bar
What I don’t like about Prestige Classic Kohl Eyeliner in White:
- Breaks easily. Be careful when sharpening this product.
- It seems to melt after a few months under room temperature, maybe because it’s really creamy
Before smudging
After smudging
I sometimes find it too opaque, so what I do is smudge it using an eyeliner brush or a Q-tip to create a softer look. For bigger and brighter eyes, don’t use the eyeliner on your entire lid. Instead, apply it in just about ¼ of the inner corner of your eyes, and black eyeliner on the rest of the lid.
Also, I use this as a very effective highlighter on my nose bridge, under eyebrows, Cupid’s bow, cheekbones. I dot the eyeliner on my skin and softly blend with my fingers.
In choosing the white eyeliner, make sure to pick something that isn’t rough in texture. White eyeliners are basically used on your waterline so you wouldn’t want to hurt your eyes with those coarse eyeliners. I recommend this Prestige white eyeliner because it is creamy enough to glide smoothly on your waterline and I would buy it again if it ever runs out because it’s affordable yet it really delivers.
