Pond’s White Beauty Pinkish White Day Cream Review
I’m not really a fan of skin whitening to the point of using chemicals and making you end up looking unnatural, but I believe in evening out one’s skin tone to achieve that healthy-looking complexion we’re all wishing for.
I used to be very active when I was younger. I played outdoors most of the time and was active in extra-curricular activities in school. I used to frequent the beach and also had swimming lessons for a couple of months. To sum it all up, my skin suffered a lot from blemishes, sunburns, plus the fact that I didn’t use enough sunblock didn’t help at all. My facial skin was very uneven.
During that time, Pond’s and Nivea products were the only ones available in the grocery that could help me in evening out my skin. I chose to use Pond’s because it was the best-seller. During those days, I used their facial wash and toner and hoped for improvements. I started to become very busy with studies in college that I also started neglecting my very basic skin care to achieve a better skin tone.
Fast forward to this year, my skin showed lesser blemishes, but uneven skin tone is still present. Looking back, I have tried a lot of products such as lightening creams to lighten the blemishes, but they only made my skin oily. One day I was buying some groceries when I was stopped by a promoter of Pond’s. She was showing me the shelf when my attention was caught by a couple of sachets from Pond’s. I honestly didn’t know they sell in the sachet form, so I keenly got some sachets of the Pinkish White Glow cream and thought it wouldn’t hurt to try.
From Pond’s Philippines website:
With Pro Nutrients and Lycopene to lighten skin and reduce dark spots for a pinkish white glow. Has a pinkish white finish and powdery feel.
After application, it finished off as matte and didn’t leave any white cast.
My initial reaction after applying it was, “Wow, I love this product”. It melted on my skin and made it smooth, instantly. I used it for a couple of weeks and waited patiently before I made a verdict.
What I like about Pond’s White Beauty Pinkish White Day Cream:
- It’s a good makeup base. I tried to use it as a primer and it made my makeup last longer than without a primer or base.
- It gives a matte finish so it doesn’t make my face oily and actually makes my face smooth and silky.
- Smells nice, not overpowering
- Reduced some blemishes
- It’s cheap.
- It’s readily available in local drugstores, supermarkets and department stores.
What I don’t like about Pond’s White Beauty Pinkish White Day Cream:
- Didn’t give a “pinkish glow”, maybe with continued use
- It made me break out.
And that was it. As much as I wanted it to work because it’s inexpensive and is always available in local stores, it failed me because my skin reacted to it and it’s not a good sign so I stopped using it.
Would I repurchase? No, because it gave me breakouts and that’s probably due my skin’s sensitivity. It didn’t give me the pinkish glow, not that I’m expecting, but maybe if used continuously To those who are looking for an affordable lightening cream, I suggest this product for you to try.
