OPI The Amazing Spiderman – Number One Nemesis Nail Polish Review
Initially I wasn’t very interested in the OPI The Amazing Spiderman (seen the movie yet?) Collection, but then two shades called out to me—two shades which just happened to be Chanel nail polish dupes. One escaped me because it was out of stock around the time of my purchase, but I was able to get my hands on the other shade, Number One Nemesis.

About Number One Nemesis, OPI says:
Show your metal in this sparkling nickel
From photos of the polish online and then from looking at the bottle in our dim indoor lighting when I first received it, I though the color of Number One Nemesis was a rather typical, dark slate gray, but the following day when I swatched it in the sunlight, I realized that it was a much more complex color!

This photo and the one of my nails below taken in warm afternoon light, for comparison
It’s not straight up gray, or even black, but a very deep, dark olive green with tinges of a dark smokey gray. To top that off, it’s got these shiny, sorta mettalic particles in it in shades of gold, green, and charcoal gray. Lovely. It looks like it’d feel gritty on the nails, but it’s actually very smooth. This looks so nice in the sun.
It was funny how, when I showed it on my nails to my sister, who’s not really into nail polish, she said that the color was pang-kontrabida (fit for a villain). Well it is called Number One Nemesis, after all! Hehe. Personally I’d feel comfortable wearing it anytime. I find the shade interesting and pretty gorgeous. By the way, what this is a supposed dupe of is Chanel Graphite. So if you have that…go ahead and compare. I don’t own no Chanel polish (yet). I didn’t get it because it was a Chanel dupe, I just liked the color.
I had no problems with the formula—it was neither thick or runny, and it applied smoothly. I used two thin coats of it on each nail and that was enough to make it opaque. Drying time as with all other OPI polishes I’ve tried was not frustratingly long.

Please excuse the wear near the cuticles and tips. I’ve been wearing this on my nails for about 3 days now.
OPI The Amazing Spiderman – Number One Nemesis Nail Polish – What I like about it:
- How the color is complex, yet wearable.
- I love the green in it. Flatters my skin tone, in my opinion.
- It has a smooth formula. No problems at all with application.
- Doesn’t take long to dry.
- It’s big 3-free.
OPI The Amazing Spiderman – Number One Nemesis Nail Polish – What I don’t like about it:
- I have to order it online. Bought it from Digital Traincase for PhP 420. I checked and there’s still stock of it remaining. I guess it wasn’t as popular with others as it was with me?
Overall:
I’m glad I made an effort to get this polish from OPI’s The Amazing Spiderman Collection. Number One Nemeisis is so not a polish to ignore. I love it on my warm skin tone and it’s cool to look at in the sun.
