The pink lipstick should be a staple in our make-up kits. A lot of people say that red lipstick is a must-have and I agree but I also think that everyone should have their pink lipstick too. It can instantly transform a drab outfit into a girly and cute one. It screams feminine, sweet and charming in just a swipe or two. There are different shades of pink that suits every skin color. For girls who have a fair complexion, you should go with a brighter and louder pink. Pale pink may tend to wash out on your face instead of stand out. For the gorgeous morenas, pale pink or candy pink suits them best. Stay away from neon pink! Today, I will share with you my latest pink lipstick acquisitions—NYX Matte Lipsticks in Shocking Pink and Summer Breeze.

Product claim: NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented, richly formulated lipsticks that glide on smoothly; stay put and impart a non-glossy, high-fashion matte finish as they envelop lips in brilliant color.

I first came across NYX lipsticks when I was just browsing various Multiply sites. A lot of stores are selling them on Multiply and Facebook so I got curious with all the hype. I decided to finally give it a try because they are very affordable so it wouldn’t be much of a risk. These lipsticks were being sold at a bazaar. They are ordered from the US according to the seller.

Others have already compared it to MAC. At first I thought it was ridiculous because the price difference is quite big. But when I applied it, I immediately thought that “Hey! It’s like MAC!”

It closely resembles MAC’s Candy Yumyum.

What I love about NYX Matte Lipsticks in Shocking Pink and Summer Breeze:

• They are very affordable. I got mine for 300 php each.
• They are highly pigmented.
• They offer a wide selection of pink colors.
• The lipsticks are matte but they don’t dry the lips too much.
• The very cute packaging.

What I don’t love about NYX Matte Lipsticks in Shocking Pink and Summer Breeze:

• They have that soap-like scent.
• You have to reapply them because they easily wear off.
• They are difficult to acquire because they are usually being sold at bazaars or available for pre-order.

Overall:

I highly recommend NYX matte lipsticks for girls-on-a-budget. It gives a smooth and highly pigmented finish and you can’t resist that cheap price. The fact that some lipsticks resemble that of MAC’s is a bonus too. If you’re planning to get one, I suggest you buy it from bazaars because I knew a few people who got so impatient because it takes a few weeks and even months to arrive when you pre-order them. So which one of the two I liked best? I think I’ll be using Shocking Pink more because I love the bright candy color.
