NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange
Good morning everyone! I’m trying to start off my monday, and the work week all bright, cheerful, and with a positive, can-do attitude. The product I’m going to review now seems perfect for my mood—and it’s bright alright. It’s the NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange, which I purchased from the Digital Traincase year-end sale.
What the company says about the product:
Somewhere over the rainbow—that’s where you might expect to find one of our shades of divine nail color. The quick-dry nail polish formula is long-lasting, leaving behind no lumps, clumps or lines, while the applicator brush deposits just the right amount of varnish. And the color? Va-va-voom.
To be honest, I only got this particular shade because there were only two colors left in stock at the Digital Traincase shop. I merely wanted to test the quality of NYX nail polishes, which I’d never tried before. And at the (sale) price of PhP 89, I didn’t have much to lose.
This isn’t big 3-free and contains Formaldehyde Resin, so I try to remember to apply it in a well-ventilated area and when my kid isn’t around.
The NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange has a thin texture, which I like because I think it makes application easier for polish newbies like me. The handle of the cap is on the short side and the brush is small and not splayed. I need three coats of this to achieve opaque color.
The color of this is a bright, neonish orange. Really nice for summer. The finish isn’t very shiny and is actually a bit on the dull side, so it’s best to apply a top coat on this to add some shine. It’s great that this NYX Girls Nail Polish is fast-drying! Three coats applied only needed about 3 minutes to become totally dry to the touch.
When I test nail polishes for review, I don’t wear any base coat or top coat, simply my preference at the moment. Without those two, this lasts a good five days on me with very minimal fading and no chipping.
It looks even brighter and annoyingly orange in actual. :-) Also, I thought my cuticles were okay but this photo shows me how dry they actually are.
NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange – Likes:
- It’s a breeze to apply.
- The brush isn’t splayed or too big.
- It’s fast-drying.
- The color is vibrant and pretty.
- It doesn’t fade or chip easily.
- It’s not expensive.
NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange – Dislikes:
- The finish looks a bit dull.
- Not big 3-free.
- I have to order it online.
Overall:
I think this is pretty nice for PhP 89, so the next time I have the opportunity to try the other NYX Girls nail polish shades, I’ll be getting two or so additional colors for myself. Hot Orange is a perfect shade for summer, and for me it brings to mind trips to the beach, somehow. I’ll keep this shade in mind when the summer season rolls around, or anytime I need an orange nail polish fix!

lol…’annoyingly orange’? well it doesn’t go far from the Pantone Color of the Year, Tangerine Tango. Nice color to start the week! :)
Haha, yeah, see it in person, and I think you’ll know what I mean. :) I just googled Tangerine Tango, omg, it’s so pretty. I want a dress in that color!
guess you love orange then…I’ve got to get used to it first…:) orange still gives me the impression of jail-people…you know..hehehe
I do like orange, actually. :) Haha but yeah I also understand how it can remind people of jail uniforms. =P
this reminded me of my Deborah Lippmann Lara’s Theme. i noticed i don’t have an orange nail polish too so i got that. Orange nails rule!
Ooh I have a huge lemming for Deborah Lippmann polishes but am not familiar with Lara’s Theme, will check that out. :)
