Nivea Lip Balm in Angel Star

Nivea Lip Balm in Angel Star

Lip balm is one of the essential things I have in my bag or even my pockets. I have very dry lips and lip balm is my savior. I like balms that have a sheer tint since my lips are really pale. It’s really convenient to have a balm in a tube when you are on the go and there’s no sink nearby. I prefer my balms to be in this form because I won’t dare to dip my hands in tub lip balms like The Body Shop’s Born Lippy if I haven’t washed my hands.

During my last toiletry shopping spree I included Nivea Angel Star lip balm since I ran out of my HG lip balm Nivea Strawberry. I opted for this one since I hated the taste of Nivea Cherry and this is pink. Why not try a pink balm?

Nivea Lip Balm in Angel Star

Scent
Has a mild fruity scent, it smells good!

Color
Light pinkish tint with lots of GLITTERS! Yes! Glitters not shimmers. I really hated it when I tried it at home. The glitters are gigantic! I couldn’t help but be disappointed in this one.

When I first swatched it on my hands I knew I wouldn’t like it on my lips. The color is light pink but turns a really pale pink on my lips, you won’t actually notice that it is pink. I think the glitters are a little iridescent.

Texture
It never actually relieves any dryness, or moisturizes at all. I think the glitter particles contributed to the dryness of my lips even more.

Staying Power
Have to remove it because I have a feeling it just adds to the dryness of my lips.

Where To Buy

What I Like About the Nivea Lip Balm in Angel Star:

  • It is pink (lovely color in the tube), but doesn’t appear that pink once applied
  • Not sticky like the other Nivea balms
  • Smells good
  • Cheap
  • Available locally

What I Don’t Like About the Nivea Lip Balm in Angel Star:

  • Doesn’t contain shimmer but CHUNKY GLITTERS!
  • Not moisturizing at all

Tips

It could be used over matte lipsticks to add luster.

Will I Repurchase?

No! Maybe I’ll just give it to someone else. :)

Final Thoughts

I’m quite disappointed with this lip balm from Nivea. All of the balms I’ve tried from them performed well in moisturizing my lips really well but this one failed. Not only is it not moisturizing, the chunky glitters are not really flattering unless you want to look like a disco ball.

I think this is a fun lip balm for preteens.

If you want a lip balm that can soothe the dryness or moisturize your lips then I don’t recommend it. You might want to try Nivea’s Strawberry balm which is my Holy Grail! :D
