Nature Republic Morning Fruits Green Grape Body Lotion
I’ve been using this lotion day and night since I bought it…because it smells so good! I tested each scent of the Nature Republic Morning Fruits line at the store, and my top picks were this and Peach. I’m not a fruity scent-lover, really. I’m more into gourmands and light, pretty florals, but this surprised me because it is in no way annoyingly, artificially fruity, unlike many other drugstore lotions out there. Each variant in the Morning Fruits line also has its own distinct benefit to the skin, which I though was kinda interesting.
Product claim:
This body line removes impurities and refreshes the skin. The Green Grape Body Lotion is an intensively moisturizing body lotion for mild peeling.
I can’t recall green grapes having any discernable scent, so this doesn’t exactly smell like actual green grapes. Its scent is just mild though, not loud at all, but it seems to emanate from my skin quite well while putting it on. It’s not a candyish fruity scent—it has just a hint of sweetness, paired with a hint of tanginess, which makes for just the right combination to make it smell refreshing and subtle. At PhP 220 for a 150 ml tube, I thought it was a great bargain.
I was intrigued too by the particular ‘function’ each variant had, especially this one’s, which is intense moisturization, but also, mild peeling. I mean, aren’t lotions for preventing the skin from being dry and peeling? But the sales assistant explained that it’s to slightly exfoliate and therefore have new skin resurface, or something like that. I was already sold on the scent anyway.
This has a thin consistency, not creamy but not greasy or oily. The texture is very lightweight and quickly absorbed, which would be ideal for hot, sticky weather. I didn’t think this would be moisturizing at all because of the light consistency, but it turns out that it is. Not intensely moisturizing, but pretty good! I applied it on my legs this noon and stayed mostly in air-conditioning, and until now my dry skin feels soft and doesn’t look flakey. As for the peeling, I haven’t noticed any peeling at all so far.
Nature Republic Morning Fruits Green Grape Body Lotion – What I like:
- Its refreshing , subtle smell.
- It leaves my skin soft for hours.
- It doesn’t cause any irritations.
- It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin. Also seems to sink in fast.
- The packaging looks cool and pleasant to the eye.
- The cheap price tag.
- I can buy it easily because there’s a Nature Republic branch near my home.
Nature Republic Morning Fruits Green Grape Body Lotion – What I don’t like:
- The cap on my tube won’t shut very firmly. So I’ll probably just avoid bringing this in my bag.
- It contains mineral oil and petrolatum (and parabens), if you avoid those, which I usually do, but I decided to take a chance on this one and it didn’t let me down.
Overall:
Great product. The Nature Republic sales assistant was right, I should’ve bought the shower gel in the matching scent. I’ll also try the Peach variant when I finish this (or if I’m simply in the mood for a new lotion scent). The low price tag makes it an even better find. I’m certainly looking forward to exploring more of Nature Republic.
