Nars Deep Throat Blush Review
Deep Throat is my very first Nars blush (that’s right, I was a Nars blush newbie. Until now). I’ve wanted to try Nars’ popular blushes for some time but often became overwhelmed with the color choices and doubted if it was worth the expensive price tag. Well, recently, I took the plunge. Deep Throat was instantly in my top choices because I wanted a shade that’s wearable, at all times of the day (the sales assistant totally pushed 0rgasm on me, but I found it way too glittery). A couple of swipes of Deep Throat on my cheek and I was sold.

Product information from the brand website:

In the pan, Nars Deep Throat looks pretty boring, I must say. It looks basically like a peachy pink. On the skin though…ooh, so pretty. On my warm, yellow-undertoned medium skin, it applies more pink, with a bit of peach in it to warm it up. It contains fine, iridescent golden shimmer, which I like because it helps perk up my skin and suits my warm skin tone, but if you hate shimmer, you probably won’t like this product. The shimmers in it are much finer and smaller than the ones in 0rgasm though.
Deep Throat is very wearable for daytime—the color looks quite natural. It really looks like a natural, light flush. Not like a deep flush one can get after exercising or running, on me it’s more like a slight flush that can appear on my cheeks when I’m indoors (with no air conditioning) but the weather out is real hot. Even applied with a heavy hand, the color of Deep Throat still doesn’t look too much, but I think what some people might not like, when this is applied heavily, is that the iridescent shimmer can become very noticeable. I think the iridescence can make oily skin look even more oily, but I’m not sure about that because I have dry skin. Personally I don’t mind this and don’t find it to be too much because I do like shimmer.

The lighting here is very warm because I took this in the afternoon, but you’ll be able to see the blush on my cheek, I think,
The texture of the powder is fine; it is not difficult to blend. I’m pretty impressed with the staying power of Nars Deep Throat, considering that it’s a powder blush and it can be very hot and humid in Manila. After about 6 hours of wear, it still hasn’t faded from my cheeks.
Nars Deep Throat Blush – Pros:
- The color looks very natural and pretty on the cheeks. Wearable for daytime and I think night time as well—applied heavier it looks somewhat shinier on the skin because of the fine shimmer.
- I personally like the golden iridescence which makes my skin look dewy.
- It doesn’t make me itch or break out.
- It’s unscented.
- The powder’s texture is quite smooth; it’s not hard to blend.
- There’s a mirror inside and the size is purse-friendly.
- The black compact with the Nars logo looks sleek.
- It lasts very long for a powder blush.
- It’s locally available.
Nars Deep Throat Blush – Cons:
- The matte casing attracts dust. If you get pigment or powder on it it’s hard to get it off.
- It’s expensive. PhP 1450 at Rustan’s.
- Some may not like the iridescent particles. Keep in mind though they’re not as big or obvious as those in 0rgasm.
- I’m not sure if this’ll show up on darker skin tones.

The swatch looks pretty! i want to try NARS Angelika :D
I want to try that too. I think Angelika would look nice on light or light-medium skin tones. :)
I much prefer Deep Throat over Orgasm <3 To me, Deep Throat matches the 'peachy pink' description more than Orgasm, which looks straight up pink on me! :)
And Orgasm looks so peachy pink in the pan. Probably applies slightly differently on various skin tones though.
