Nail Polish Colors For Summer Pedicures

Nail Polish Colors For Summer Pedicures

I’d been so caught up in trying so many different polishes on my nails, I pretty much neglected my toenails. I pampered them recently—did my own pedicure and painted my toenails a pretty purple color…I’d sort of forgotten how pretty that can look. Summer’s a good time to have fun with nail polish colors on toes because they’re gonna be exposed a lot. It’s the time for flip-flops and sandals and nail polish is a nice way to complement your footwear and prettify your feet.

Here are some good nail polish colors for summer pedicures:

1. Neons

I love neon polish on my toes for trips to the beach or the pool, there’s nothing more summery! They look pretty cute with colorful flip-flops too. Neon polish also seems like a current trend, what with the upcoming releases of neon polishes for summer by China Glaze as well as Essie. Locally, and for a more affordable option, we have neons from Chic Nail Polish, I saw a handful of their neons recently at the mall.

Specifically, the ones in the medium to lighter end of the spectrum, such as sky blue, periwinkle, cornflower blue…blues that are cool to the eyes and which remind me of the sky and the ocean. A soothing contrast to the scorching summer heat. Also, my personal favorite at the moment. Blues to try: Essie Smooth Sailing, Sally Hansen Brisk Blue, and many others.

I think orange shades are a cool, modern alternative to red nails, and I think they’d make great colors for summer pedicures. I mean, what other time is there to wear orange on your nails than summer? Great orange polishes that I’ve seen lately are OPI A Roll In The Hague, from the Holland Collection, China Glaze Riveting, from the Hunger Games Collection (gonna have this soon, yay!), and NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange for a more affordable option.

If you’re not into bright colors, well, there’s always neutrals. I personally like to use neutrals as a sort of palate cleanser, when I’m tired of bright or dark shades I go for nudes. But if I wear nude cremes all the time, I get bored. With shimmers though, I find them more interesting. I particularly love gold shimmer in nude polishes, such as the Cult Nails Baker, or Bobbie Butterscotch. I also love browns and taupes. Try to look for a neutral color that will flatter, and not clash with your skin tone. They should make your feet look clean and pretty.

This is such a girly, fun color. I think it’d go great with a sun dress and platforms, and actually most type of sandals. If you’re not used to wearing bright colors of polish on your hands, trying them on your toes first is a pretty good option. A beautiful, vibrant pink I’ve seen lately is another polish from OPI’s Holland Collection, called Kiss Me On My Tulips.

Those are the nail polish colors that I plan to wear for my pedicures this summer, and I recommend them to anyone looking for fun colors to wear on their toes as well!

I’d been ignoring my feet too and hiding them in sneakers, now they’re clean and painted and I can wear sandals haha. Do paint your toe nails when you get a bit of free time Farha, it’s a nice way to pamper yourself. :)
