I wasn’t familiar with the Miners Cosmetics brand prior to buying this product, but checking online it looks to be a UK brand of affordable cosmetics. Recently, more UK drugstore makeup brands have been brought to the Philippines courtesy of online sellers. The Miners Tin o’ Tint in Cherry was one of my buys from the SuperSale Bazaar. I didn’t buy a lot at the bazaar but I really never can resist a cute tinted lip balm.
What the company says about the product:
Miners Tin o’ Tint will leave your lips feeling smooth and soft. This gorgeous cherry shade will not only leave a deep berry tint to your lips but the signature cherry fragrance will leave your mouth watering.
I found this at the stall of Make Up Hub By Naturele Collezione, an online-based store that sells Miners and other British brands, like MeMeMe, Models Own, Soap & Glory, and more. The price of the Tin o’ Tint was PhP 250, which is fair considering that on the Miners website it’s £2.99.
I found the packaging of the Miners Tin o’ Tints pretty charming. Usually I prefer my lip products in tubes because those are more hygienic, but I tend to set that preference aside when I see cute packaging. This tin is easy to open and ingredients are listed on the bottom.
Aside from Cherry, I also saw Watermelon and Vanilla variants. I loved the smell of Vanilla, however the color of it was quite pale and my lips are already pale. Watermelon was a warm pinky peach and I already have something like that, so I picked Cherry, whose color in the pan to me looked like a plum, which I thought was kind of a different shade for a tinted lip balm.
On my lips, it’s a wearable, sheer mauve pink with a slight sheen. It helps make my lips look more plush—I really like the color of it. The scent is a pleasantly light cherry. It doesn’t make my nose hurt and doesn’t smell cloying on hot days.
The consistency of the Miners Cherry Tin o’ Tint is stickier than most other tinted balms I’ve tried. It’s not totally unbearable but those who dislike having anything remotely heavy or sticky on their lips might not like this product. I like the color of this and to get the color to show up I kinda have to pile it on, since it’s a tinted lip balm after all, but the more you apply the stickier it gets so I settle for dabbing on a light layer. It lasts about 2 hours on me.
I don’t find it to be moisturizing so I won’t rely on this for moisture alone, but at the end of the day it doesn’t leave my lips dry either.
