Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer
Dark under eye circles and puffy eye bags– these are just two of the major problems most women experience when it comes to the eye area. Different eye creams addressing different concerns such as darkness, puffiness, and fine lines have been formulated by different companies but for those of us who have problems with these, we can’t wait for months just to see results and we need something that can quickly fix these in just a few minutes. That’s where the importance of concealers comes in. My main concern is having dark circles. Lack of sleep, stress, and dehydration are what causes me to experience such so I can’t rely on eye creams alone. I have been looking for a concealer that can address this issue and I have tried quite a few. Some were good, some were rather disappointing. I just cannot bring myself to spend thousands of bucks just for a concealer so I was not putting drugstore brands off the list. Hey, as long as it works, I won’t be ashamed of using drugstore brands. I have found a gem among these and that is the Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer. It was something I have already read good reviews of but never really purchased right away and waited for reviews from fellow Pinays before finally giving in. I have been using this product for more than a couple of months now and here is my review.

Product Description taken from the Maybelline AU website:
Why You’ll Love It
- Like no other concealer you’ve tried or applied.
- Perfecting coverage with an amazing air-soft feel
- Blends so smoothly, conceals so completely
- Innovative technology with flexible silicone elastic that helps prevent caking

For Best results
Clean the skin thoroughly before applying medication. Cover the affected areas with a thin layer one to three times daily. Because too much drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two to three times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.
Pros of Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer
- The texture is wonderful – light, fluffy, air whipped mousse that feels nice to the touch.
- Pigmented and a little goes a long way. You only need very little product for each under eye. It is pigmented enough to cover each with just a little amount. Do not go overboard with this and be concealer crazy and pile it on your under eyes as it will definitely look cakey.
- Since it dries to a matte finish, I no longer have to apply a different setting powder for it. I can just use the Dream Matte Powder to set it as I set the rest of my makeup or foundation with it. It saves time.
- I have the shade Cream or Light 4-5 and it perfectly matches my skin tone. It is also the shade of my Dream Matte Powder so I need not worry about color match.
- I may just be imagining things but when I use this as my under eye concealer, the lines are less visible and less noticeable when compared to Laura Mercier Secret Concealer + Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Powder. Maybe it fills the lines a little but then again maybe it’s just me.
- When the right amount is applied, it does not cake or settle on fine lines. But apply just a little more than what you really need and say hello to accentuated fine lines and caking.
- Stays pretty much the whole day even when it is a bit hot. I am putting emphasis on the word ‘bit’ as too much heat can cause it to melt and go kaput.
- Inexpensive as I got it for only Php 247 + shipping on eBay.
- No allergic reactions, no eye irritation, no milia.
- Does not turn ashy on me unlike other or most concealers do.
Cons of Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer
- Not locally available to we all have to resort buying online or have someone purchase this for us abroad.
- Make sure that you twist the cap shut; otherwise, the top portion will harden and get crusty still in a soft way though.
This is a very nice concealer. It does an amazing job considering how inexpensive it is.
Will I buy again? I hope I can still find it by the time I have to. I have been consistently using it for over three months now and I’m not even halfway through it

Hey…
I am so happy that my comment is accepted by the site..i thought it has been banned ……i want to review for some products ..how to do this?
Hey Pradnya of course your comment will be accepted…there’s no reason at all to ban it or anything like that.
Please see the Jobs section of the site and email me at the indicated email addie.
Please don’t use this product if you have any sensitive skin. it was discontinued for a reason. I was one of the people that had a horrible reaction to the product. blistering rash all over my face and i had never had a reaction to any make up before. it took a month before i even wanted to leave my house because of what it did.
Sorry to hear you had a horrible allergic reaction to this product Ali :( I’ll be sure to spot test this first if ever I decide to use this concealer.
