MAC Impassioned Lipstick Review

MAC Impassioned Lipstick Review

This is first ever MAC lippie! :) Woot! Though I already tried MAC Pink Noveau before.

Impassioned is described by MAC as amped up fuchsia.

It didn’t look fuchsia on my lips or even my swatch though.

At first I was disappointed when I got it. It looked like my Revlon Cherries in the Snow lippie on my lips but yesterday I tried it again and the shade now looks watermelon pink! Teehee! Like this one.

Above is the swatch on my inner forearm. This is under fluorescent light. I couldn’t get a decent shot since it was really rainy and dark outside. No sun today. :(

MAC+Impassioned+Lipstick+Review2 MAC Impassioned Lipstick ReviewIt still comes in their classic packaging in black tube with silver inner-half of the tube perfect for our purses and has the trademark of mild vanilla scent.

MAC+Impassioned+Lipstick+Review3 MAC Impassioned Lipstick ReviewThis was taken around 12 noon on a sunny day! Look at the hint of coral, pink and red. It is a perfect combination right?

This is an amplified finish. I think Amplified means it is a crème finish with high pigmentation. WOW!
It is a warm pink color with hints of coral, pink and red. It has no shimmer but gives off a nice sheen. Super pigmented, one swipe and you are good to go! I love that this one lights up my face. That it makes me look very happy and festive! Haha. :)

What I really like about this is I don’t need to apply lip balm prior to application. It glides really well on my lips same with Revlon Cherries in the Snow formula. It doesn’t settle on my lip lines too. Since this is an Amplified finish it didn’t dry out my lips at all.

The rich color is pretty that even after eating and drinking it leaves a nice pinky tint on my lips. I really love that it is long lasting because I have this habit of licking my lips.

I couldn’t take a decent lip photo of me wearing it! Maybe next time! :)

MAC+Impassioned+Lipstick+Review6 MAC Impassioned Lipstick ReviewAnd oh! Lastly the ingredient list

MAC Impassioned Lipstick - What I Like About It

  • A bright lippie, something to be used on rainy days!
  • Very pigmented
  • Creamy formula
  • Glides well on my lips
  • Applies opaque so I don’t need to apply layers
  • Has this sheen effect
  • Didn’t settle on my lip lines
  • Didn’t dry out my lips
  • Lasts fairly well around 5 hours without me licking my lips

MAC Impassioned Lipstick - What I Don’t Like About It

  • I’m not a fan of the vanilla scent though it is not overpowering
  • Locally available but always out of stock
  • Mid-range price

Tips

  1. Exfoliate your lips once a week
  2. Wear with a light and subtle eye makeup to avoid makeup fiasco ☺

Final Thoughts

If you ask me why I love bright lippies the reason is it is no fuss makeup. It instantly brightens up my mood. Just apply it and you are good to go. Unlike blushes wherein you have to be really careful as it can be overdone and eye shadows that need blending skills. But I love blushes! It is just on those lazy days which for me is almost every day I just apply any bright lippie I have and I’m good to go! And I guess wearing a lippie makes you look “made up” without putting on piles of makeup.

Now my addiction to MAC lippies has officially started! Haha. I’m thinking of ordering Girl About Town too!
