L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
Today, I am going to review another L’Occitane product. You may have noticed that I already did several reviews from this brand simply because I had a ‘L’Occitane phase’ in my ‘kikay life’ which started around 2 years ago. Not to mention that I also had some as gifts. :) Anyway, as mentioned, today am going to review their world famous Shea Butter Hand Cream.

Product Review
I got L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream as a gift so I am not really sure how much it costs at Rustan’s or at their individual outlet stores.

The first thing that struck me was the packaging. My husband asked me whether it was a new wood glue. Even my mom thought about the same. It’s really funny because when you look at it, you wouldn’t even for a single second think of it as a hand cream. We always associate hand creams to be packed in plastic tubs or tubes with flowery designs, etc. This one is different. It’s very simple.
It comes in a screwable cap which is very easy to use. Honestly, I prefer caps which you can flip open and close because I sometimes loose caps especially as small as this.
But anyway, this should not be a problem.

Screwable cap
As for the hand cream consistency, it’s not too light or runny and not too heavy. It’s just about right so that you can easily spread it into your hands.

Pros of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
It is moisturizes my hands really well even right after applying it. I usually have this cream with me all the time especially when I still had an office job.
With continued use, it made my hands soft and smooth. My cuticles, which were forever dry, have improved a lot!
It is non-greasy and non-sticky. There is a little bit grease upon application but the hands absorb the cream faster anyway.
It’s easily spreadable into your hands because of the hand cream consistency. I admit sometimes I use this on my foot to get that soft and smooth feeling.
It smells lovely and not overpowering. The scent is not flowery or perfumery scent.
I get a little kick everytime I see this hand cream in my bag because of the packaging. Sometimes, I get weird stares from people thinking that I am putting wood glue on my hands. Hahaha!
This little thing makes me happy.
Although I am not too sure about the price, I know that it is worth it since I get all the moisturize and softness my hands needed. It’s economical too since you only need a pea-sized amount of the hand cream to use on your hands.
Available in 2 sizes, 1 oz and 5.2 oz. This will give you the chance to try the product out first before buying the full size.
Cons of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
I do have a bit of concern for their aluminum-like packaging. I feel that I will not be able to use up 100% of the hand cream since when you press down on the tube, the packaging creases up (shown in photo above) and this may result to some hand cream being ‘trapped’ in the folds and creases. I can also see some tearing on the bottom part of the packaging and if it continues, it may expose the hand cream so I am really taking care of it.
Would I buy it again? Yes. Hands down, this is the best hand cream I have ever used so far. The Shea Butter ingredient really works wonders on my dry hands. I personally recommend this to wives and mommies who subject their hands to housework every single day. It doesn’t mean that housework equates to callused hands. This hand cream will be perfect in maintaining their hands’ softness and moisturize. I’m sure they’ll be happy with this perfect little treat! ;)
