L’Occitane Verbena Soothing Body Ice Gel

Don’t you just hate being all sweaty on those hot, summer nights? It’s especially dreadful here in the Phils because of our tropical and humid climate. Having a product that would definitely ease that icky and sweaty feeling would help a lot! And you know what, I think I just found something that would do just that…the L’Occitane Verbena Soothing Body Ice Gel. The verbena ingredient, one of the popular key ingredients of L’Occitane, has since been a favorite of L’Occitane’s avid followers.

Key Ingredient: verbena

L’OCCITANE Verbena is formulated from a premium quality verbena extract from Corsica, which is particularly fine and pure. The lemon fragrance energizes and revives the senses, thereby helping to banish tiredness and stress. Products include fragrances, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and soaps.

Claims: For an instant feeling of intense freshness. Use after a workout or sun exposure, and to relieve muscle pain during massage. With organic extract of verbena, citrus essential oils and a water-soluble cooling agent. Moisturises and soothes–may even be used to help relieve minor insect bites.

How to Use: Belongs in bathroom, gym bag and beach bag to cool the body and take the edge off summer’s minor burns and bites. Apply day or night as needed.

I didn’t really expect that much from this since I have used a lot of soothing and cooling lotions and gel over the years and it hasn’t really reached my expectations. Although, honestly, this is L’Occitane and most if not all of their products definitely reached and even surpassed my expectations.

I find this soothing gel easy to use. Very handy especially during the summer months and on days when you’re always on the go. The packaging is nice. Simple yet classy. Verbena scent is very mild and not overpowering.

Pros of L’Occitane Verbena Soothing Body Ice Gel:

• I like the cool (literally!) and soothing feeling I get from this body ice gel right after application. It’s really perfect for hot, summer nights and after gym workouts to relieve muscle pain.
• It glides easily onto skin and is well absorbed. It doesn’t leave a sticky feeling after.
• It also has a mild and refreshing scent that stays onto skin for quite some time. It isn’t overpowering.
• It does leave my skin satiny smooth and well moisturized with continued use.
• I like how the packaging looks. Very simple yet classy.

Cons of L’Occitane Verbena Soothing Body Ice Gel:

• I have been using this body ice gel for more than a year and I noticed that the coolness when applied to skin is not that strong anymore compared to when I used it in the first few months. Yes, I still feel the cool and refreshing feeling but the quality somehow diminished. It’s not as cool and long lasting as when I first used it.
• As with all other L’Occitane products, I find the price rather expensive. However, we have to pay for some quality products right?Besides, L’Occitane is a product imported by the Phils so duties and taxes will definitely apply on their retail prices.

Would I buy it again?

Yes, if budget is not an issue. I will make sure though that I finish the bottle as soon as I can so that I’ll be able to fully maximize the body ice gel’s performance. I highly recommend this product especially during hot, summer nights, after a workout or during a massage. Best for people always on the go. You’ll definitely feel invigorated after using this product!
