J Tomas No Tangle Leave In Hair Mist Review
I like looking at the items in the Hair section because I’m constantly looking for products that can hydrate and smoothen my dry, colored tresses. I kinda picked this up randomly. It had this Cosmo Beauty Awards sticker on it, I read the box for a bit, and when I checked the price tag I saw it was just PhP 165, so I was like, okay, I’ll try it, and tossed it into my shopping basket.
Product information on the packaging:
J. Tomas Hair Solutions’ No Tangle Leave In Hair Mist is a weightless, pre-styling instant conditioner that detangles without greasiness.
Amazingly, J. Tomas’ No Tangle Leave In Hair Mist instantly revitalizes dry, damaged, and chemically-treated hair to an illuminating brilliance and vibrancy.
I thought it was cool how this was like a leave-in conditioner that’s a mist instead of the usual cream. I’d never tried anything like that before. I did read that it can be used as a pre-styling product, but I rarely ever do heat styling because I’m a bit lazy about that. So I thought I’d use it as a hair detangler and a sort of leave-in, instant conditioner. J Tomas, by the way, is a local brand.
The scent of the J Tomas mist reminds me of…a hair salon. Haha, well yeah that’s what the smell of it brings to my mind. I neither like it nor dislike it. I would prefer if it were unscented. The scent lingers but isn’t too strong, and it fades after about 30 minutes.
The instructions on the box tell me to shake the bottle, then spray the J Tomas mist evenly over towel-dried or dry tresses, massaging it into the scalp, and combing it through the ends. I did that. I didn’t put on any conditioner in the shower beforehand each time I used this, to see the effect of this mist.
The first time, I thought I used too little because I didn’t see or feel any effect. But the next couple of times, I sprayed on a good amount of the product over my entire head. When I comb my damp hair after using this, I still have tangles, unlike when I use conditioner in the shower, my comb just glides on smoothly. Once my hair is dry, it feels more moisturized compared to when I use no conditioning product at all, but it’s not a whole lot. It doesn’t make my tresses shiny, and it doesn’t make them soft, just not as dry as when I don’t use conditioner. Using a traditional conditioner still makes my tresses much softer and smoother.
It’s true though that this doesn’t cause any greasiness, and my tresses don’t feel weighed down by it, but other than that, I don’t see much benefits to using this product.
J Tomas No Tangle Leave In Hair Mist – Likes:
- Doesn’t leave my tresses greasy or limp.
- Easy to come by at department stores.
- Locally available. J Tomas is a local brand.
J Tomas No Tangle Leave In Hair Mist – Dislikes:
- Wasn’t very effective at making my hair look shiny.
- Doesn’t make my hair much softer. I’ll take any local traditional conditioners at the supermarket anytime.
- Doesn’t live up to its claim of detangling the tresses.
Unfortunately I don’t see any benefits to using this product…I guess so as not to waste it, and to use it up, I can use it for extra hydration, after I’ve applied conditioner on my tresses in the shower. I regret buying this and wish I’d purchased some other hair product.
