Fashion 21 Single Blush in #5 Review
This product is actually called the Fashion 21 Single Blush-On, but I dislike calling blushes blush-ons. It’s very 90s to me. Aaaanyway, in case you haven’t noticed by the number of blush reviews I’ve been posting lately, I can’t get enough of blushes. I’ll never get tired of looking at new blushes, and the current shades that attract me are bright ones, but I seem to be developing a liking for bronzey colors as well. Shade #5 falls into the bronze category.

This is a pretty straightforward product. Clear lid with the Fashion 21 logo, 5 grams of product. PhP 125. A bronze shade with hues of dark peach, and loads of shimmer. I think dyeing my hair brown made me look a little more tan, and I’m more appreciative of bronze blushes and eyeshadows now because it gives more warmth and a healthier look to my face. They suit my warm, Asian skin tone beautifully. #5 on my skin is not a straight-on bronze or brown, but is bronze with with warm peach undertones. This product isn’t very pigmented, but since I’m still getting the hang of applying bronzey blushes, I find it easier to use that way. I’d prefer to build it up and use up a lot of product if I have to, rather then overapply and have to blend and correct afterwards.
And what is it about the shimmers? A lot of times, I shy away from super shimmery blushes because I feel like they make the pores near the sides of my nose look more obvious, but I’m loving the many fine, gold and silver shimmers in this one. I think the shade might look flat and not as lovely if it were matte instead. The color and the shimmer work well together. This lends a nice sheen to my cheeks. I just use foundation underneath that covers up most of my pores.
Here’s what I like about the Fashion 21 Single Blush in #5:
- Beautiful peachy bronze shade.
- The shimmers in this one go very well with the color. Bring on the shimmer.
- It doesn’t make my cheeks itch.
- It doesn’t cause any breakouts on my skin.
- Has relatively good lasting power, about 4 hours.
- Sturdy. I was examining the color under the light and like the Ever Bilena Cheek Blush, I clumsily dropped it and the pan didn’t crack.
- It’s cheap!
- Fashion 21 is available at lotsa places.
And what I don’t like about the Fashion 21 Single Blush in #5:
- Could be more pigmented.
Overall:
I’m happy with this budget find. Check it out if you like shimmery, bronzey blushes. Such a score for just PhP 125.
