Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Mirrored Mocha Review
Call me boring, but when it comes to lipsticks, I just adore natural, “my lips but better” shades. These are my go to colors whenever I want to pull of the ‘no makeup’ makeup looks or when I just want my lips to look more decent. My lips, at the moment, look nowhere near pretty because of the wounds it received during the time they were chapped, so I need all the help I can get to make them appear healthy.
During the time I bought the Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Scarlet, I also opted to look for a shade that matched (or is close) to my natural lip color for me to wear in school without bringing too much attention to myself, and for something that would look great with a smoky eye. I wanted something that was muted down and not that eye-catching. I found ‘Mauvey’ to be too light pink, so I decided to get ‘Nude’ instead. To my surprise, I found out that I accidentally bought ‘Mirrored Mocha’ when I tried out the lipsticks.
Just like any lipstick from the Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick collection, it has a sleek, rectangular, matte black tube (yay for fingerprint-free lipsticks) and a swatch of the lipstick on the cap (thankfully, the swatch didn’t detach from the cap this time.). In the tube, the lipstick is a mocha brown color with hints of coral, nothing really interesting or eye catching, I guess. The formula is matte but is a bit creamier than the other shades, thus not emphasising my chapped lips that much. However, it is still very, very drying on the lips.
The staying power is amazing. I don’t need to reapply as often as I usually do with other lipsticks. It is quite easy to remove and I didn’t notice it leaving any stain behind. It has a weird scent, though. Kind of like plastic or rubber (or something very artificial), but I don’t really mind. It won’t be noticeable when you apply it.
I admit, I was deeply disappointed at first when I found out that I bought the wrong shade, but when I tried it on my lips, all that disappointed was immediately replaced with love. Although it is slightly darker than my lip color, it makes my lips look so plump and lovely, and not at all unhealthy. It is not, in any way, harsh. The shade is perfect for everyday wear and it could suit any skin tone. And the best part? I can just slather it on my lips without the help of a mirror. Applying this as neatly as possible isn’t needed, which is perfect for busy bees and people on the go.
The price ranges between P130-P145, but I bought mine at P135 which is pretty cheap.

OVERALL
Despite its being very drying, I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I just love how it fits my skin tone and that it looks very flattering on my lips. It’s a great pick-me-up when you’re set on wearing minimal makeup. Even if this is a bit dark for an MLBB shade, you can definitely pull off a natural look without looking too made up.
