Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tints in Bloom and Blush
Do these Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tints in Bloom and Blush look familiar to you? If they do, it’s probably because the packaging reminds you of the old The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Tint. The packaging for these is a knockoff of TBS’s, but the colors and pretty much everything else are their own.
The first thing I noticed about these was the fruity/candyish, Jellyace scent. They really smell just like Jellyace, and I like it. It’s cute. I don’t find the scent overpowering and after a few minutes it fades away. The applicator is a slim doe-foot, much like the ones for lipglosses. It picks up and spreads product easily.
I found these at a Robinson’s Department Store marked down 40%. They were originally priced at PhP 175, but with the mark down they were only PhP 105 each. Steal! I noticed though that Ever Bilena has another lip and cheek tint, called the Advance Lip and Cheek Tint, but I found that one a little too red. These two shades looked better and subtler to me. I wonder though if they’re on sale because they’re being discontinued?
The Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tints have a light, gel-like texture. They don’t dry quickly so I don’t have to hurry while applying and blending them. They look slightly dewy on my skin, the effect of which I find quite sort of glowy, and pretty, but the downside is they feel dewy as well. In fact, the finish feels a little sticky than what I anticipate for a lip and cheek tint.
Unfortunately, I the shade I like better between the two is Bloom and I have to swipe it about 3 times to get the level of opacity I want on my cheeks. I think the Bloom shade is pretty—it isn’t the usual straight-on pink or purpley pink I find for cheek tints, but a color that is a peachy, bordering on orange, with a little pink. It suits my warm skin tone very well. The other shade, blush, is much more pigmented, and I only need a light, careful application of it. It’s pretty also, a reddish pink shade, but I find myself reaching for Bloom more often.
I’m pretty happy that these don’t cause any breakouts or itching on my face. Even through sweating, my skin was totally fine. They last long too. But on the lips is another matter, they caused an allergic reaction there—made them itch, and left me with a few tiny rashes that dried out in a day or two.
The ingredients list for the Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tint: Water, Glycerin, Lanolin, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Fragrace, may contain Cl 45410, Cl 13015. As far as I know, my skin doesn’t react to parabens, so, I don’t really know which ingredient irritated my lips.

What I like about the Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tints in Bloom and Blush:
- The pretty colors, especially Bloom.
- They’re very easy to apply and blend.
- I find the artificial Jellyace scent fun and cute.
- They don’t make my cheeks itchy, nor do they cause any pimples or whiteheads/blackheads.
- They last long on my skin.
- The colors don’t smear or get patchy even through sweating.
- I’d say Bloom is still decently pigmented though I have to swipe it a couple of times; Blush is nicely pigmented.
- I got them at an even lower price with the mark down.
- Available at most drugstores, supermarkets, malls.
What I don’t like about the Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tints in Bloom and Blush:
- They feel kind of sticky on the cheeks. I’d prefer a more matte, dry feel.
- They made my lips itchy and very dry.
Overall:
I like them well enough, but only for my cheeks. The colors are lovely and brighten up my complexion, Bloom in particular goes well with my skin tone. One tube should last me a long time, but if I happen to misplace both, I’d re-buy only Bloom. For bargain hunters or those who want to try local, affordable brands of makeup, I would recommend these, but I would also advise being cautious and observant when using them on the lips.
