Ever Bilena Blush in Cheek

Ever Bilena Blush in Cheek

Hi everyone! It’s hard to believe it’s already November, and that less than two months from now, the holidays are gonna be rolling in. Another year gone by! Time truly just flies. Currently I’m sort of in a blush phase. I wonder how many I would have tried or accumulated by then. I don’t judge based on the price tag and want to try them all. And here is the most recent one I tried—the Ever Bilena Blush in Cheek.

This is the case with the Ever Bilena Blush in Cheek, which in the pan looks like a dull…brown.  It looks a bit brighter and a bit more interesting in the picture above, since that’s what it looks like when you’re looking at it under the bright noontime sun. Under typical indoor lighting, the shade appears to be a medium peachy brown.

Applied lightly on the cheek though, it looks so much prettier. A pinkish peach color with a terracotta undertone. It has subtle shimmers that aren’t so noticeable on the skin, but give it a little sheen. On my cheek, it looks more like a medium pink-peach and looks like a natural flush. I can imagine it suiting a range of Filipina skin tones. I think those with light skin can apply this lightly, to avoid having their cheeks looking too ruddy, while for those like me who have a medium skin tone this is a great everyday color of blush, and it would suit morenas nicely too.

It’s nicely pigmented—I only need a swipe or two. I also find that it requires minimal blending, and on me, it doesn’t oxidize. The packaging is very basic, and sturdy too. I clumsily dropped this from pretty high up, and while the hinge inside broke, the blush stayed totally intact. The pan also flips up to reveal a mirror underneath and a space to store the brush that comes with it. I only used the brush once, on my hand, and I probably won’t use it again because while it’s soft, it smells nasty! I prefer using my older brushes anyway so I won’t bother washing it.

Here’s what I like about the Ever Bilena Blush in Cheek:

  • It’s nicely pigmented.
  • The color is flattering on my cheeks and looks natural.
  • It’s easy to blend.
  • It’s unscented.
  • It doesn’t make me itch or break out.
  • The pan didn’t break or even crack when I dropped it from way up.
  • It’s so affordable. Just PhP 150.
  • It’s available at so many places.

And here’s what I don’t like about the Ever Bilena Blush in Cheek:

  • The brush that’s included with it (literally) stinks.

Overall:

This is such a nice drugstore find. Since it’s not prone to getting cracks, I’ve been stashing it into the little cosmetics pouch I always put into my bag. A pretty blush shade that looks natural on my cheeks and has a cheap price tag. Definitely worth checking out.

Hi sis! I like the way your pictures are shot here. How did you so this? What camera are you using? Thank you Ida! More power to your blog. :)

Hi Cecile. Thank you! :-) I use a Canon Kiss x3/500D. I usually take photos outdoors under bright sunlight since I’m not very good with the settings when taking photos in artificial light (ie my desk lamp). :-)

i’m planning to buy those but i dont know if they are a good combi.

    • Ida says:

I think if you’re going for a subdued, natural look, yeah! Those two should look nice together, based on Cecile’s review of the EB Mauvey lipstick. :)
