Ever Bilena Advance 5-Piece Brush Set Review
This was given to me by my aunt, which was a pleasant surprise, since, for some reason, I’ve never really noticed Ever Bilena’s brushes before. Their makeup yes, their brushes, I haven’t explored at all. I admit, I wasn’t expecting much from this, but it’s turned out to be a pretty cool discovery.
The Ever Bilena Advance 5-Piece Brush set is comprised of a powder brush, an eyeshadow brush, a lip brush, a sponge-tip applicator, and a plastic eyebrow/lash comb. It also includes a foldable, semi-transparent plastic case.
The powder brush feels soft on my skin, with only a faint hint of scratch at the bottom of the bristles. The eyeshadow brush is even softer, though on the flimsy side and is not nearly dense enough to deposit a solid amount of color. I think it’d be good for applying a light wash of color all over the lids. The sponge-tip applicator and brow/lash comb are both pretty standard.
The hairs on the side don’t look neat, but this feels soft on the skin.
My favorite in the lot is the lip brush. If you check out the set at a store, don’t judge because initially, it feels incredibly, unusably stiff. But the key is washing it. After washing, it feels just how a lip brush should—pliable, with hairs the right length and thickness to provide the right amount of control over application, and soft enough for the lips. I love using this with the Sleek True Color Heartbreaker Lipstick, which is a highly pigmented bright pink, because it lets me apply that color evenly and in sheer layers.

These Ever Bilena brushes have a chemical scent that reminds me of the scent of Pentel pens, which is probably the dye used for the bristles. It’s not overly strong though, but it hasn’t gone away after two washes. I probably need to deep-clean/deodorize these but haven’t had time to do so. None of the lip, powder, and eyeshadow brushes bleed, and have only shed one or two hairs each, though the hairs of the powder one became even more splayed after washing.
I like the white handles and shiny black ferrule with the black and brown hairs, plus the greyish plastic case. It all creates a look that’s basic, but neat and not cheap-looking, in my honest opinion. I like the case, it’s just thin and small enough to pack into my daily cosmetics pouch, though I’ll probably replace the 3 brushes on the right with other brushes I can use more frequently.
Ever Bilena Advance 5-Piece Brush Set – Pros:
- It’s only PhP 140. I would buy it for the lip brush alone.
- Soft hairs.
- No bleeding and very minimal shedding experienced with these.
- I find the length of the handles just right.
- I like the clean look of the set’s minimalist design.
- The handy plastic case fits right into my cosmetics pouch.
- Easy to come by at most department stores and drugstores.
Ever Bilena Advance 5-Piece Brush Set – Cons:
- Has a chemical scent that hasn’t faded yet.
- The powder and eyeshadow brushes aren’t very dense.
- The hairs on the powder and eyeshadow brushes looked even more splayed after washing.
This is a nice little set for PhP 140. I think it’d be a decent buy for those starting to build their brush collection and are under a limited budget. The brushes aren’t scratchy and I really like the lip brush and have been getting a lot of use out of it.
