Essie She’s Picture Perfect Nail Polish Review
I like most hues of purple on my nails, and now I seem especially drawn towards light, pastel-like, springy types of purples. I guess that’s why when I saw She’s Picture Perfect, from the Essie Resort 2012 Collection, I waited and waited until a local online shop stocked it and when I saw that it was already available, I pounced on it!

About the collection:
“Glamour is something you can’t just put on,” says Essie Weingarten, founder and global creative director of Essie. “It’s inside each of us, waiting to be set free. This collection will inspire that inner ingenue and coax her out to play.”
Essie describes the color of She’s Picture Perfect as an iridescent, reflective lilac.
This is such a dainty color. To my eyes Essie She’s Picture Perfect is a cross between periwinkle and lavender. A nice shade for both spring and summer. Here in the Philippines, the rainy season seems to have started already, and I’m liking the slightly cooler weather, but when it gets all gloomy and drizzly out, springy shades like these help brighten my mood.

If you don’t read the shade description on the Essie website and glance at this when it’s applied on the nails, it just looks like a regular creme finish, but look a closer look at the polish and the bottle will let you see that it actually has this pretty iridescence to it. The iridescence is a lot more obvious in direct sunlight; I love looking at it and it complements the color well, it just makes it seem even prettier.
The formula on She’s Picture Perfect for me was not so smooth. It was kinda streaky and at two coats there were a bunch of bald spots, so I did three coats of it. It doesn’t dry to a very shiny finish, but if you prefer a glossier finish, a swipe of top coat over it will remedy that. Drying time was okay, it was relatively quick.
I bought this from The Polished store on multiply (they sell other brands of imported nail polish) for PhP 419. I paid for my order with Paypal using the multiply shopping cart and the process as usual was very convenient for me it’s a plus when the multiply site I’m shopping at has this order checkout method. The shop responded and shipped out my order quickly.

Essie She’s Picture Perfect Nail Polish – What I like:
- The dainty, pretty color.
- It doesn’t take very long to dry.
- The polish is big 3 (Toulene, Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Pthalate) free.
Essie She’s Picture Perfect Nail Polish – What I don’t like:
- Slightly streaky formula.
- Can be ordered online or at bazaars only.
Overall:
This polish didn’t disappoint—I enjoy wearing it. It makes my hands look a little bit more tan, which isn’t an issue with me at all, but if you don’t like light colors that tend to make medium, warm skin tones look a little darker, then you might not like this. For purple lovers, you must check it out. The other shades in the Essie Resort 2012 Collection are Sure Shot, Pink A Boo, and No More Film.
