Caudalie Beauty Elixir Review
Caudalie is a French pharmacy brand of skin care . Their Beauty Elixir or Eau de Beauté is a product of theirs that I’ve read many good things about. I purchased it at Sasa in Hong Kong where Caudalie products are available. The Beauty Elixir can be used as a toner, serum, facial mist, or makeup setting spray, and claims to provide a smoothing effect as well as a glowing complexion.
From the Caudalie website:
Smoothing, glowing complexion
Grape, Orange blossom, Rose, Balm mint, Rosemary
Inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s elixir of youth, this treatment smooths away fine lines, tightens pores and gives the complexion a real boost of radiance.
Directions for use:
Shake before use. Avoid the eyes. Spray onto the face before your moisturizer and at any time of the day, to refresh the skin and set make-up.
First of all, I very much like the whole aesthetic of the Caudalie line. I was able to browse through it at Sasa and most everything is in glass bottles or jars, with neat labels, and while they all look rather simple, there’s a definite air of elegance to these products.
The Beauty Elixir Eau de Beauté comes in two sizes, of which I bought the smaller one, a 30 ml/1 oz bottle, to try it out and because the items weren’t cheap. This bottle cost 150 HKD, or, roughly converted, PhP 800.
This product can be used in a handful of different ways but I choose to use it mainly as a facial mist, and sometimes as a setting spray. I find the scent of it, which I’d describe as a light herbal scent with a hint of mint, refreshing. I love that it’s not floral or fruity like almost every other western or Asian product I’ve tried. To me this smells natural and pleasantly different.
The Beauty Elixir doesn’t feel oily or heavy on my skin. It feels hydrating and refreshing, which my currently dry, tired skin loves. It just feels good on the skin. I woudn’t say that it gives me a glowing complexion, but my skin does look refreshed after using it. I spritz this on if, after my skin care routine my skin’s still dry, or later in the day when my skin needs a boost of hydration. As a setting spray, it works alright, helpful for keeping makeup in place during the day, but it wouldn’t be enough for more sweat-inducing activities like clubbing, for instance.

Pros:
- I think it smells lovely.
- The packaging looks classic and pretty.
- It feels refreshing and hydrating on the skin.
- It perks up my tired, dry skin.
- It does not irritate my skin, break me out, or make me oily.
- It’s multipurpose.
Cons:
- It’s expensive.
- It’s not available here.

Hi Ida, did you consume this one na? I was wondering what are the effects after you finished it up! :)
Only 1/4 of the bottle left now…paubos na! Aside from a mist I also began using it as a toner when I ran out of the toner I had, after cleansing and before applying moisturizer, every time I use makeup. For me Cecile it makes my skin feel smoother and hydrated without feeling heavy at all. Nakakakinis. Tapos parang nagiging refreshed din yung itsura. My skin is dry and dull kasi so ok to sa akin. That’s my personal experience with it ah. I need a new, bigger bottle! :)
