Benefit Ticket to Glossytown Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Gloss Set
I got this as a gift with purchase last month at the Benefit store at Greenbelt 5. The Ticket to Glossytown Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Gloss Set was part of the Holiday 2011 kits. They have a new line of glosses called Ultra Plush, but the ones in this set are from the older line, the Ultra Shine Lip Shine. I added an extra item to my basket to reach the total that’d let me receive this GWP ’cause I thought it was a great way to try their Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip gloss, which I’d never tried before.

First off, these tubes of Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Gloss are pretty small—they’re 3 ml each. I’m happy with the size though. I find it practical. It’s great if you just wanna try out the various shades of the Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Glosses or plan to alternately use these colors.
The container is cardboard with a plastic sleeve that can be slid to the side to get access to the tubes. From what I know the Ticket to Glossytown Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Gloss Set was still available for purchase last month, for PhP 1500, but I don’t know if it still is now. I’d recommend calling Benefit (info on their Facebook) to inquire.
The shades of Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Gloss included in Ticket to Glossytown, left to right in the photo above, are (with my own descriptions of each):
Kiss You, a plum color with no shimmer
Spiked Punch, a peachy coral with no shimmer as well
Life on the A List, a pale nude with a bit of a pearlized finish
Foxy Lady, a rosy pink with fine iridescent shimmer
So Frisk Me, a mauve that’s packed full of iridescent shimmer
and Nudie-Tude, a nude that’s very close to my skin tone. It’s darker, warmer, and for me, more wearable than Life on the A List. Contains fine gold shimmer.
Swatches in natural light, left to right, Kiss You, Spiked Punch, Life on the A List, Foxy Lady, So Frisk Me, Nudie-Tudie. The colors are a little more vibrant in actual.
My favorites are Spiked Punch, whose peachy shade helps brighten up my face, and Foxy Lady, because it’s pretty, natural-looking pink and I like how the iridescence in it makes it look even glossier, but not over the top. All six of these Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Glosses are pretty sheer and look quite natural on the lips. These have an artificial, but not overwhelming orange scent. The applicator is a short brush, about 3/4 of a centimeter, and it’s easy to use and makes for precise application.
I find these to be only slightly sticky, but still comfortable to wear. They last around 3 hours on me.
Benefit Ticket to Glossytown Ultra Shine Lip Shine Set - What I like:
- The variety in shades and finishes.
- Natural-looking finish.
- These don’t feel very sticky on the lips.
- Okay lasting power.
- The brush makes it easy to apply precisely.
- Not fond of the scent but at least it’s not too strong.
- Simple but cute packaging.
- Locally available.
Benefit Ticket to Glossytown Ultra Shine Lip Shine Set - What I don’t like:
- I got it as GWP, but I find the PhP 1500 price tag expensive.
- There’s a mild sweetish taste to them. I personally prefer my lip products with no taste.
Overall:
If you’re willing to spend extra on the Benefit Ultra Shine Lip Shine Lip Gloss, the Ticket to Glossytown set is a good way to try out some of the shades they have and the general feel and wear of the glosses.
