Benefit Bella Bamba Boxed Powder Swatch and Review
I want to find a Benefit Boxed Powder that I can love. I’ve already tried two, and neither of those worked out—now, Bella Bamba is my third shade to try. With its 3D brightening pink face powder tagline, hey, why not? I was pretty curious how it’d look on my cheeks.
What Benefit says about the product:
Amplify cheekbones and create the illusion of sculpted features with this 3D watermelon blush. Laced with shimmering gold undertones, bella bamba takes eye-popping pretty to the third dimension…you’ll never use traditional blush again!
I love the holographic cover on the box of Bella Bamba, it’s so kitschy! Goes right in hand with the 3D claim too. I do find it a little hard to open though, unless I use my nail to gently lift up the lid. There’s a mirror inside and a small, flat brush. I never bother to use the brush that comes with the Benefit boxed powders because I prefer a traditional blush for application.
Bella Bamba has a sweet floral scent that I’m not too keen on…I really liked the scent of Hervana, but this one I find a little too sweet. So I find that it’s a good thing the scent fades within a minute or two.
Taken in natural light, with no flash
The color of Benefit Bella Bamba to my eyes is medium watermelon pink. On my skin, it appears more cool than warm. It’s quite a pretty color that tends to brighten up my face. It looks fresh and not clownish.
One layer of Benefit Bella Bamba Blush
Bella Bamba is packed with shimmer, so if you hate shimmer, stay away! The shimmer in Bella Bamba is gold, and while they’re not chunky, they’re very obvious ’cause there’s a lot of them. They highlight my pores and any pimple or bump I have on my cheeks, so if you have enlarged pores like I do you might wanna use a pore-minimizing primer beforehand. Also when I look at Bella Bamba on my cheeks in direct sunlight, it just seems like too much. For nights out, no problem, I’d load it on, but for daytime use, I don’t see myself using this much.
I find the Benefit Bella Bamba Boxed Powder to be pigmented enough. I swipe it on twice or thrice and I’m good. It lasts 3-4 hours on me and doesn’t oxidize.
Benefit Bella Bamba Boxed Powder – Pros:
- The pretty pink color of it…
- which remains a true pink on my cheeks and doesn’t oxidize.
- The cute, as well as sturdy, packaging.
- Mirror, and brush (if you wanna use it), conveniently included inside.
- The color seems to brighten up my face.
- Also seems t help define the shape of my cheekbones.
- It’s pigmented. The color payoff is good.
- Lasting power is alright by me.
- It doesn’t give me more pimples or irritate my skin.
- It’s locally available.
Benefit Bella Bamba Boxed Powder – Cons:
- The shimmer can be too much.
- The shimmers also tend to emphasize pores and flaws on the skin.
- It’s expensive. It costs PhP 1600 at Benefit stores. $28 on the Benefit website.
Overall:
I get the 3D effect it’s supposed to have—I think the shimmers in Bella Bamba give the cheekbones a little more dimension, but unfortunately, at the same time, they also tend to bring attention to flaws on the skin, such as large pores. If you have relatively nice skin and love shimmer, do give this product a try. On the other hand, if you have problematic or mature skin, or just enlarged pores on your cheeks, you might not find the finish of this so flattering. Personally, I like the color of it a lot but the too-shimmery finish doesn’t work with my skin.

wow!
sobrang busy ako at ngayon lang ako nakadrop by.
love the layout ha!
anyway, i haven’t really tried any blush from bene kasi im not really a blush person but this looks really nice!
i guess i can understand why girls go gaga over bene blushes!
this is gorgeous!
how about coralista?
have u tried that?
Thanks sis!
I used to have Coralista, that one’s more of a summery, pink-peach color, and it’s beautiful! But it oxidizes on me so it makes me look a bit sunburned later in the day. Haha. So although I prefer the color of Coralista in the pan, I’d pick Bella Bamba because the color stays true on my cheeks. Sa Benefit store sa Greenbelt you can swatch all you want, I recommend testing the blushes there. :)
