Belo Essentials Smoothening Whitening Body Bar Review

Belo Essentials Smoothening Whitening Body Bar Review

I’m being more and more open to using whitening body products. I use them now primarily to whiten dark spots, to make my overall skin tone more even. I used to rule them out of my routine because I thought of them as being generally harsh and not suitable for sensitive skin, but I’ve been finding out that some are simply gentler to the skin than others. One example is the Belo Essentials Smoothening Whitening Body Bar, which I’ve been using daily for over a month now.

The soap looks kind of ugly here. It’s really more of a bright white color with little dark pink-colored dots. I got this for free with the Belo Essentials SunExpert Face Cover SPF 40 which I’ve already reviewed. I found it taped to the bottle of Belo Essentials sunscreen at a supermarket. I guess it wad from a previous promo they had. There was only one bottle with a freebie soap left, so I grabbed that quick. The soap is priced at around PhP 40.

This has a mild, typical soap scent, and it lathers really well in the shower. I use this soap not on my entire body (and on my face, not at all), but only on areas that I want to whiten, like my knees. The little pink/red dots are exfoliating beads, so when I rub this bar of soap against my skin, it feels moderately scrubby because of those beads, although it doesn’t feel too rough. It doesn’t cause any stinging sensation. It leaves me feeling squeaky clean and with no residue. At the same time, this soap also makes it feel a little dryer. Since it’s drying, I try not to let it get anywhere near my eczema.

And has there been any whitening effect? Yes, a little bit of it, but enough for me to notice and be pleased enough to continue using this Belo Essentials soap everyday. Personally, for me, it works.

Here’s what I like about the Belo Essentials Smoothening Whitening Body Bar:

  • It has a mild, clean scent.
  • It has small beads in it that are exfoliating, yet don’t feel too hard or harsh.
  • It does not melt easily.
  • Leaves no residue.
  • Doesn’t cause any stinging, itchiness, or peeling.
  • Makes my skin feel very clean.
  • I saw some whitening effect after over one month of regular use.
  • It isn’t expensive at all. Just PhP 40.
  • Available at most places.

And what I don’t like about the Belo Essentials Smoothening Whitening Body Bar:

  •  It’s a little drying, but I do always follow up with lotion.

Overall:

I like this. It works pretty well, it’s inexpensive, and it’s not irritating or overly drying. I will keep using it regularly and will buy it again, probably with other whitening products that are also mild and not too drying.
