Asian Secrets Lulur with Licorice & Mulberry Leaf Extract

Asian Secrets released two new variants of their Lulur Whitening Body Scrub, the two variants’ difference being their ingredients. The one I got has a purple logo and contains Licorice and Mulberry Extract, while the other has a blue logo and contains Seaweed Extract and Vitamin E. I liked the original variant, which has Green tea and Vitamin E, and had already used up my tub of it, so I thought I’d try both of the newly released  ones, but only this one was in stock.

The Benefits of Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub

  • Lulur beads gently exfoliate and remove dead skin cells to smoothen and give it a radiant glow.
  • Frequent usage reduces pigmentations and evens out skintone by getting rid of dark patches, especially in areas prone to darkening like the elbows, knees, armpits, and the area between the thighs.
  • Contains Licorice and Mulberry Leaf Extract to help whiten skin.
  • It also moisturizes and leaves a light fragrant scent.

Directions

Scrub all over your skin especially the dark areas while it is dry to impurities, dead skin, and dirt. Rinse with water.

Asian Secrets Lulur with Licorice & Mulberry Leaf ExtractI’ll tell you now, I don’t find much of a difference between this and the original Asian Secrets Lulur. Both scrubs have the same white color and whipped, smooth-looking texture. They also feel the same—creamy with fine granules that feel scrubby, but still gentle. I haven’t finished the entire jar yet, but I think this will probably have a whitening effect like the original variant did. It’s also priced the same, at PhP 130 for a 250 gram jar (no smaller size available).

The only difference between this and the old one is the color of the packaging and the scent. This has a soapy, clean scent, while the original has a floral scent. The scent is still very mild though. I use this product only on areas I want to even out and very rarely on my entire body. I have naturally dry and sensitive skin, but like the original one, I don’t find this drying. I apply it on dry skin, because I’ve gotten used to doing that, but it’s alright on wet skin too, it just feels more slippery and not as scrubby.

Here’s what I like about the Asian Secrets Lulur with Licorice & Mulberry Leaf Extract:

  • It has a scent that’s mild, clean, and not harsh.
  • It feels creamy and gentle on my skin. The granules don’t feel too rough.
  • It’s not drying.
  • The 250 g tub, used only on certain areas, should last me some time.
  • It’s affordable.
  • It’s easy to come by since it can be found at Watsons branches and department stores, but there weren’t a lot of stocks at the SM store I went to, and the blue variant wasn’t in stock at all.

And what I don’t like about the Asian Secrets Lulur with Licorice & Mulberry Leaf Extract:

  • Nothing.

Overall:

I like this variant as much as the original Asian Secrets Lulur, but there’s not much difference between them anyway. I’m not sure if it’ll effectively whiten my skin yet, but I’m betting that just like the old one, it will. I’ll buy it again, and I’d like to try the blue one too.

So far I’m liking this, I have the one with Seaweed Extract.

How’s the one with the Seaweed extract Faye? :-)

So far so good, my skin doesn’t feel scrubbed roughly, neither does it feel dried out after using it. My mom also likes it, and in her own words, it’s a much preferable way to get rid of “libag”, LOL!
