5-Minute Makeup – Products I Use

5-Minute Makeup – Products I Use

Doctor’s appointments. Lining up at the bank or bills payment center. Quick grocery shopping. Running various errands. Lazy Sunday afternoons. Those are the times when, most often than not, I only take up 5 minutes to do very simple makeup, usually out of necessity, because I’m in a hurry, or, I’m simply in no mood to do a longer makeup routine. My 5-Minute makeup routine does not make me look spectacular or polished, by any means, but it does keep me from looking totally sickly and tired. This way I don’t look like death warmed up while going around doing stuff.

5-Minute Makeup - Products I Use

Here are the products I use for my 5-minute makeup. Incidentally, there are 5 of them. Sometimes I just bring them along and do my makeup in the car on the way, if I’m not driving.

  1. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus
  2. Nars Nico
  3. Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Peach
  4. Ever Bilena Pink Petal Blush
  5. Clinique Chubby Stick in Whoppin Watermelon

The first thing I use is my trusty Bobbi Brown Corrector. I will probably keep buying this ’til I’m 90 or find something better. I apply it on the dark circles under my eyes to neutralize them and make them less obvious. At times I apply it with a brush, other times with my ring finger, either one works for me.

Next, is Nars Nico. Quite an underrated Nars product. Using a small, slim kabuki brush, I sweep it on my undereyes to set the the Bobbi Brown Corrector, and at the same time, subtly brighten the undereyes. I also brush it on my lids to lessen any redness and brighten up that area by a little bit.

Then I apply the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural all over my face with a kabuki or powder brush. I continue to like this product. Even if my skin is dry at the moment this doesn’t make it look any dryer or bring attention to flakey spots.

For some color on my cheeks I often use the Ever Bilena Pink Petal Blush. I really abuse this blush because I know it’s sturdy, and it’s cheap so it’s easy to replace. I bring it in my bag for touchups so it’s all scratched. The color of it is also nearly impossible to overdo due to its being on the powdery side. But I like that the color will always look subtle no matter how hurried or heavy my application. It’s pretty too.

Lastly I use the Clinique Chubby Stick in Whoppin Watermelon on my lips. A very sheer, soft wash of pink, barely detectable, natural-looking color that gives my lips some life. My husband who prefers minimal makeup has complimented this color on me. I really like it for its lip balm-like feel on the lips.

There you go, that’s my 5-Minute Makeup routine and products! I’d love to add a brow product too but I just try to keep them groomed and neat so they don’t look so bad bare. If I pretty much have no time, I pare it down to the Bobbi Brown Corrector and/or any lip product for color on my face. So how ’bout you, what are your in-a-hurry makeup products?

If I’m in a rush or doing errands lang, i usually just use my Bobbi Brown mineral powder foundation, Bobbi Brown blush, Revlon Just Bitten balm stain and in2it eyebrow powder – which I recently added to my must list ;)

    • Ida says:

I like the Revlon Balm Stain too, cause it lasts long. :) Ako naman maedyo tamad to do brow makeup lately, though the in2it powder is always something I eventually go back to using. :)

      • Angel says:

That’s what I love about it, no need to reapply all the time. :D I used to not care about my brows because I have thick eyebrows that I maintain all the time but when i started using In2it, I saw the significant difference talaga when I have brow powder. haha :D HG brow product ko talaga yun ;)

    Matte ba si Nico Ida?

  3. i rarely put minimal makeup but when i do, i use L’oreal Lucent Magique BB cream, concealer (before Shu mark cealer, now Edward Bess platinum concealer), MAC MSF Medium, Face Atelier facade on cheeks, one coat of mascara (now using ZA Impact Lash Wide Eyes) and Sleek tinted lip conditioner. i suppose applying all that could take 10 minutes. i don’t fill in my brows too as i feel it will overwhelm the look when i don’t have much on it, especially my eyelids.

    • Ida says:

How’s the L’oreal Lucent BB Cream? Ako naman I don’t do brows anymore mainly because I don’t have time- it takes me time to finish brow makeup because I tend to have a heavy hand with it and overdo it when I hurry. I think you’re right that obviously done brows can look a bit much on some (minimally made up) faces.

  4. I hope you can show a photo of your face with the products on.

    • Ida says:

Hi Pong, I’ll try to add photos to this post later…I do think before and after photos using these would be good additions.

  5. Val Anne Bee says:

Yup before and after photo Ida. =) Mine, MaxFactor Panstik as my concealer, 4U2 Posh Foundation, Etude House Brow Pencil, Body Shop Cheek and Lip Tint. =) I feel incomplete going out without filling in my brows. I feel that my face is wide, I need to frame it a bit. Hehehe. =D
